I never tire of visiting the romantic city of Venice. Stoll the paths that wind through this floating city whilst crossing one of the many bridges over the endless canals, which shall inevitably lead you to a fabulous restaurant, stunning piazza or palace. Gondola rides and walking guided tours are highly recommended but if you want to explore a little further then take a water taxi over to Murano Island, famous for the hand-blown glass, or Burano Island to witness the exquisite lace-making.
Whichever fabulous hotel you choose whilst in Venice, arriving or departing on the Venice Simplon Orient Express is a trip of a lifetime experience. The overnight journey will transport you back to an era of elegance and grandeur, whilst you enjoy the incredible dining options in each of the antique carriages. The restored 1920’s sleeping carriages showcase art deco elegance and offer single or double cabins, Cabin Suites and the newest addition of the Grand Suite which provides unrivaled luxury and space on this train.
This journey is certainly one I would recommend, but there are many other trips through Europe you can choose from.
